On April 15, 2020, a meeting took place chaired by D.N. Kobylkin, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation; it was focused on the discussion dedicated to the elimination of the Negative Environmental Impact objects of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The meeting was conducted through video conferencing; it was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, Nizhny Novgorod administration headed by the governor G.S. Nikitin, as well as the working group of GC Corporation “Gazenergostroy” directed by S.Ya. Chernin.
Igor Vladimirovich Ivachev, Director of the Department of State Policy and Regulation in the Field of Environmental Protection and Safety of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, reported that the manual work under the Clean Country federal project at the White sea and Igumnovo objects was fully completed; there are just legal matters left.
The implementation of projects to eliminate the damage accumulated in Dzerzhinsk will improve significantly the quality of life of 231,787 people (the city population) and bring the environmental situation in the Nizhny Novgorod Region to a new level.

Special thanks to the management of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for their trust, as well as to Gleb Sergeevich Nikitin, the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and his team for their collaboration, search and implementation of fascinating innovative solutions. It is thanks to the continuous cooperation of “Gazenergostroy” specialists with the representatives of the public and government, with the scientific community of Nizhny Novgorod State University and journalists, with all those who helped the project move forward in word and deed, and thanks to timely and high-quality control of the work performance by the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Usage employees that the elimination of the most dangerous Negative Environmental Impact objects was completed successfully.
Over the years, it has become a collaborate project for everyone concerned with its fate. Now, Dzerzhinsk citizens are going to experience the most exciting stage: they will have to decide what will replace the now former objects of the environmental damage accumulated.
Since July 25, 2016, under the Ecology national project, measures have been taken to eliminate environmental damage at the Negative Environmental Impact objects (the Black Hole illegal dumpsite of industrial waste of the former production site of Orgsteklo OAO, the White Sea slurry pit in the territory of the Kaprolaktam plant, the Igumnovo solid domestic waste landfill) in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Under the instruction of President V.V. Putin and the Government of the Russian Federation, GC Corporation “Gazenergostroy” was tasked with eliminating these objects.
